I really like lists. I hope you do too because here is a big one and there is nothing you can do about it. OK, I suppose you could just stop reading the site. Never mind about the whole “nothing you can do about it” part.

Anyway, here is a glimpse into my laptop bag:

* Apple Powerbook G4 Work Computer * Apple power adapter for Power Book * Apple 20GB iPod with dock Engraved on the back with “Honorary Swivelhead”. Received as part of payment for freelance job. * Griffin Technology iTrip FM Audio Transmitter Lets me listen to 20GB of mp3s in my ‘86 Mazda 323. * Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer * Purell Hand Sanitizer I am not really a germaphobe, but Joe sure is. * Chapstick Lip Moisturizer There is no moisture in the air in Utah. * Aquaphor Moisturizer Again, the average humidity in Utah is -37%. * 2 ball-point pens * Blue Sharpie For tagging. OK, not really, mostly for labeling CDs and DVDs. * 25 of my own business cards. * 5 $20 WalMart cards I use these as compensation for people that come in for usability testing. * A diagram I drew of how to improve a playground Reese was playing on. More about my obsession with redesigning things later. * Mac OS X discs * Work ID badge * Really pretty apple-produced telephone cord Why do I carry this around? I have not had a dial-up connection in 4 years. * A fake credit card Drawn on paper and used for usability tests. * A coupon for a Chick-fil-a sandwich I have never eaten there and don’t actually intend to. * Super Shuttle flyer from Sacramento Airport From a business trip a few months ago. * 2 folded up papers with usability testing schedules on them * Stack of Post-it notes Often used for paper prototyping. * An envelope marked “All Receipts Go In Here - St. Louis Trip” I didn’t do a good job of keeping track of receipts last time I traveled for work. Adrienne decided to make sure I didn’t repeat the performance. The back of the envelope says, “I love you, but if you don’t save every single receipt in here, you’re toast!” I was not toast. * 2 blank cd-rs For mix CDs and sometimes transferring files. * 1 blank DVD-R Archiving video of usability tests * 1 letter from Jory Jory is on an LDS mission. He sends me letters and I post them on his site. * 1 moleskine notebook I don’t know what it is about these, but I love them. Not quite pocket-size, but that doesn’t stop me from jamming it in my pocket all the time anyway. * 10 blank Non-disclosure agreements “NDAs”, used for usability testing. * 2 Wrist braces for carpal-tunnel syndrome More about this later, suffice to say I look really cool wearing them.

I am looking for a new laptop bag, if you know of a good one please leave a comment with a link.
