You’re not punk and I’m telling everyone.
I went for a walk and was blasting music on my mp3 player. I was totally feeling the music. You know when you can just feel the songs in your bones– and I was feeling so PUNK when I suddenly thought, “I should turn this down so I don’t hurt my hearing.”
I am suprised I didn’t run home when it started to sprinkle. Don’t want to catch a cold!
I was feeling cool and cutting edge watching the Liars and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs play ( John Spencer also played, but it turns out I HATE HIM LIVE.) and I found myself trying to explain to a friend that putting your fingers in your ears makes it sound better. “No, it’s just that it eliminates the the high end fuzz and you can hear the vocals better”. That and I am an old man.
There’s nothing worse than hearing 20 something punks say they are old men!

Who gives a f*#$ whats not punk.
It displays a general misunderstanding of the root of punk rock (or subversive cultures at all) to turn it into a superficial “more radical than thou” bull*%#$ forum.
When doing this you alienate those people whom might otherwise be valuable allies in the fight for real change.
Nothing is more hillarious than a supposed “anarchist” clinging to titles and scenes.

Your interpretation was absolutely hilarious. Thank you. But, my post had nothing to do with being punk. It was about me starting to feel old.
But man, what an articulate reply by you. I don’t think I have seen anything that pretentious in a long time. Besides making me laugh, you’ve inspired me to band together with, who? and unite to do, what?

I think you might have missed the point yourself there buddy. “You’re not hip to self-depreciation and I’m telling everyone.” It is a “less-radical than thou” forum mr. “more serious than thou and less-aware of irony, sarcasm or humor or it’s roots”.
I’m not a punk, how can I be? Show me the way to conformity. Try to be different but it’s all ways the same. End up playing someone else’s game. I’m just a square going nowhere.
