Spending the weekend with Reese was wonderful! Then, of course, college forced me to head back to the dorm for classes or whatever. Luckily, I’m going to go right back home tomorrow for Halloween.
I’d call it Halloween Eve, but Halloween is also known as All Hallow’s Eve, so, like the title says, we’re calling it Halloween Eve Eve.
I am a Halloween enthusiast. I don’t like slashers, zombies, or “adult” halloween parties. However, I am a HUGE fan of werewolves, vampires, skeletons, aliens, ghosts, ghouls, and anything that goes bump in the night. And hey, sometimes I’ll watch something that doesn’t fit any of those categories too. Obviously I enjoy the non-movie aspects more—corn mazes, fun music, haunted houses, etc.—but in my attempt to justify my enjoyment of horror I’ve been making what has turned into an admittedly conspiratorial bulletin board.
I don’t imagine you’ll be able to read it: that’s fine, it’s not done. Not by a long shot. Unfortunately I’ve only made it about halfway through. But, as you can see, being someone who enjoys the concept of horror more than actual horror, I’m out here fighting for my life to justify enjoying it.
If there are any takeaways from this, let it be so:
Most horror exists (in my eyes) to be laughed at. Except for Winchester, which in my opinion, just flat-out rules.
Anyway. I’m off to draw werewolves to wind down for bed tonight.
